RACHEL JARABECK

MECHANICSBURG, PA

I fell in love with travel when I toured Europe as a teenager. Standing among the history of Rome, experiencing the glamour of the French Riviera, and even enjoying the adventure of a motorcoach breaking down on Easter Sunday—it all left me with an insatiable desire to see the world! The Caribbean holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve visited more islands than I can count on all my hands and feet!

I love when vacations go smoothly, but honestly, I get the best stories when things go awry. Like the time my family’s luggage got loaded into the wrong taxi before we checked out of a hotel in St. Lucia. By the time we realized it, the luggage was halfway across the island!

When I’m not traveling, I live in Central Pennsylvania, and I am always planning my next adventure. Photography is one of my passions, and I love capturing the moments that make each trip special. I’m also a proud graduate of Shippensburg University and worked in communications and marketing before diving headfirst into a career in travel. And thanks to the Apple AirTag, I’ve been able to keep a much closer eye on my luggage!

In a nutshell

Fun Facts about me:

If I’m not at my desk, you’ll find me // Reading a good book, watching reality TV, planning my next vacation (and convincing my husband that it’s a great idea), or engaging with my teenage son to the extent that he will permit!
A few things I always pack in my carry-on // Bose noise-canceling headphones with white noise app downloaded to my phone and iPad, Lululemon Vinyasa scarf to stay warm, inflatable cross-body pillow, and plush sleep mask. I take my flight sleep seriously!
My favorite souvenir // Always jewelry – Some beautiful inlay pieces from the Southwest US, black pearls from Hawaii, well-crafted silver pieces from Mexico, and many larimar items from the DR, to name a few.
Hotels I could call home // Belmond Cap Juluca in Anguilla, Grand Hyatt Kauai, or Casa de Campo in the DR
My favorite guilty pleasure snack // Garrett’s popcorn from Chicago or Dallas. My home airport is very small, almost always requiring a layover, and I don’t mind O’Hare or Dallas Fort Worth because I can get popcorn for my troubles!
