When David and I met serendipitously in 2020, we had some very important things in common. One was that we both practiced law for many years, independently from each other and in different cities, but during those years we also pursued and balanced other careers, sometimes at the same time, as well as other interests and hobbies. We were two people who liked to keep very active, involved, and busy! David being an entrepreneur was involved in the strategic planning and development of restaurants in Atlanta, and I had a career in fashion in Southern California. But the most salient of our interests was that we both had a passion for travel and had experienced not just the fun of going somewhere different but the absolute transformative nature of travel. We each had our own story of being transformed in some way by our travels. For David it was coming home from his many voyages with a different perspective and a fresh way of looking at a situation. For me, it was a yoga retreat I had gone to in Ecuador that had so changed my perspective that I made some major changes when I got home: a new job, a new morning ritual, workout, and a better diet.

In talking about our travel experiences, David asked me if I would like to join him in the travel business. David, being the entrepreneur that he is, had already developed the branding and concept for a travel agency: Transformative Travel Group. He wanted to share his passion for travel and create transformative experiences for clients. It did not take me long to say “yes” and we both said goodbye to our law jobs and were on our way. We joined The Journey Group and found a team of the most passionate. professional and knowledgeable advisors that we could ever hope to join forces with. Our goal has not changed, and we strive to make every journey, whether it be a yoga retreat or a romantic couples’ holiday, the journey of their dreams.
